Apaiser signature design meets modern drama in this Melbourne residence

March 25, 2020

apaiser is thrilled to have been selected to adorn stunning contemporary bathrooms in a Melbourne residence designed by Biasol Studio.

As per the design brief for the residence to be “monochrome, textured, dramatic”, Casa Chiaroscuro – the latest residence by the Melbourne interior design practice, is a celebration of balance and contrast. An exploration of the power of the colour black and the interplay of light and shadow.

Inspired by the ‘chiaroscuro’ technique in the visual arts, a sense of drama and artistic composition was achieved in the space. Restraint is shown in the beautifully crafted interior palette, with carefully selected materials providing visual impact.

The signature apaiser Haven Bath and Reflection Vanity were selected for the ensuite. Heavily textured terrazzo tiles and dispersed light enhance the smooth lines of the bath ware, creating a collage of shapes and colours, despite the monochromatic scheme.

In the second bathroom, warm grey terrazzo tiles are combined with dark fittings, and moody apaiser pieces become the focal points of the space. The result is a visual masterpiece.

New address in Barcelona

November 25, 2019

Opening just a few months ago, the Nobu Hotel in Barcelona is the latest addition to the Nobu Hotel family, and the third one in Spain. Located in the charming neighbourhood of Eixample, near Plaza de España, the hotel offers seclusion from the busy streets of Barcelona.

The hotel is home to world renowned Nobu Restaurant, Japanese tapas inspired bar – Nobu Sake, as well as thoughtfully appointed event and flexible meeting spaces.

Beautiful interiors, by Rockwell Group, seamlessly blend Catalan inspired designs with the traditional Japanese craft of Kintsugi, creating a mesmerizing collage of texture, material and space.

The sleek and spacious guestrooms and suites feature stylish, high quality materials and panoramic views of the city and the sea. Travertine and wooden paneling in the bathrooms reminisce of Japanese onsens with fine tailoring and architectural flair.

A pair of apaiser Lotus basins adorn the timber vanity adding an organic element to the composition of the space.

Harnessing the vibrancy of the city, whilst also providing a tranquil urban respite, the luxurious hotel fuses a genuinely local feel with modern design and Japanese tradition.

Luxury bathware brand continues global expansion

June 5, 2018

apaiser significantly shifts up a gear this year with the opening of two separate international offices in New York and Dubai.

These new outposts for this expanding global brand join the already established offices in Singapore and London, all of which reflect the continuing success of apaiser as a world leader in luxury sustainable bathware with a focus on beautiful, hand crafted baths, basins and vanities.

New York and Dubai are strategically positioned to respond to markets in the Americas and Middle East respectively, just as London is the touch point for Europe and Singapore for Asia following the earliest stages of export demand for the apaiser brand.

“Our global growth has much to do with the particular niche the brand began to build in the luxury hotels sector over a decade ago. Our baths were first specified for the Four Seasons hotel Kuda Huraa in the Maldives. This quickly brought us to the attention of not only discerning international customers who fell in love with our product, but also to the heads of other hotel and resort groups who tend to watch competitor activity extremely closely given the high stakes of this industry at large”, said Belinda Try, founder and President of apaiser.

“This initial step lead to several international orders shortly thereafter and our expansion has grown exponentially ever since, particularly within the global hospitality sector where our baths and basins have been selectively incorporated within some of the finest hotels and resorts, from Manhattan to the Maldives”, says Try.

The worldwide appeal of apaiser’s range of products is not only due to the beautiful forms which have been created over the years, from timeless classics through Asian inspired minimalist shapes and on to cutting edge contemporary designs, but their ability to create tailor made and bespoke solutions, specific to the design intent or needs of the project.

Collaborations have ensued with some of the world’s leading designers and   have resulted in beautiful, award winning projects, and lead to the development of some stunning collections. These include the recently unveiled BIJOUX collection with Kelly Hoppen MBE and the SAMPAN collection with WOHA architects in Singapore.

apaiser New York and Dubai, alongside Singapore and London, the team for the latter also expanding in the coming months, now form a global network overseen from head office in Melbourne, Australia, home base for the Australian sales and project teams, and global creative and operational teams.

Together the apaiser brand is positioned to respond to the largest possible scope of customer requests, from private residential projects, large scale multi-residential installations and hotels, through to fine-tuned bespoke orders.

“We like to think that nothing in the realm of baths and basins cannot be realised anywhere on the planet!’’, says founder and driving force of the brand, Belinda Try.
